Project: Society Leader Orientation
Client: CFA Institute
Description: An interactive information module that was designed to introduce new society leaders to the role that societies play in the mission of CFA Institute. This program went through two iterations of content development. The first iteration combined information from a web call and supplemental materials into a self-directed interactive program; the second version delivered a shorter, more focused and refined version of the content. Both were produced in Articulate Storyline.
My Role:
Managed the process of reorganizing the material to create a more structured approach.
Worked with writers to produce new storyboards for the content and managed the writing and review process.
Designed the “look and feel” prototypes to establish a design direction based upon CFA Institute brand guidelines and created a set of templates in Storyline.
Managed the development process and compressed the development timeline by distributing Storyline production work to several developers and merging files for review cycles and final composition.
Strong Suit: Transformed synchronous program into an asynchronous program in Articulate Storyline. Worked within company brand standards and guidelines.
This orientation was designed for CFA Institute society relations to help introduce new society leaders to some of the roles and responsibilities of that position and how societies make a difference. The overall “look and feel” of the orientation was based upon CFA Institute brand standards.
One objective of the program was to have new society leaders consider the contribution they would make during their tenure. Throughout the program, this was reinforced thematically, encouraging a thoughtful approach to the role they would play as a society board member.
The program was designed so that users could complete the sections in an order of their choosing. Sections showed as complete when all screens in a specific section were viewed.
Each section ended with a reflection guide that users could employ to record their thoughts about contributing to society leadership. The guides could also be used to further discussions among board members on how to strengthen the role of societies.
